POLITICO/HARVARD SURVEY SHOWS STRONG SUPPORT FOR RXIMPORTATION FROM CANADA

Washington, DC – The Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation today commented on the results of a POLITICO/Harvard survey that found broad American support for government efforts to allow the importation of less expensive medicines from foreign countries. Nearly 80 percent said it should be legal for Americans to purchase drugs from Canada.

“As American prescription drug prices continue to swell, American support for lowering prices via prescription importation remains as strong as ever,” says Jack Pfeiffer, Executive Director of the Campaign for Personal Prescription Importation. “It is time for elected leaders to take action ensuring American patients’ access to safe affordable prescription drugs through personal importation.”

The Politico/Harvard survey results land as the Biden administration has set a deadline for regulatory action to lower drug prices and reversed a federal effort to advance the personal importation of insulin from Canada.
