Why is prescription importation important to you?
What would happen if you didn't have affordable access to your medication?

My 17 yo daughter became suddenly ill at 14 with several chronic conditions. Despite having good insurance through my employer, there are 2 medications they will not cover. Motegrity which enables her GI system to function and without made her severely sick and nauseated 24 hrs/day. All other medications have proven ineffective. Corlanor is so far the only medication that keeps her heart rate from fluctuating dangerously high when just sitting and standing. To pay out of pocket for these would be at least $600/month, which would be impossible for me to cover. I would have trouble even getting these medications at full cost in the US because she is under 18. Together, they would cost close to $1000/month, if I could get them at all. These medications are literally life saving for my daughter.

I would die sooner if I couldn't access lower drug prices through importation. I have COPD. In Puerto Rico, the deductible from my medical insurance plan is $500. In Canada, I buy it for $124, shipping include, no medical plan included. I could NOT purchase my medicine were it not for Canada!!!!

Previous cost in the US - $139.00. Import cost - $43.00. It helped us afford more of the essentials that make retirement more about what it's all about, spending time with family.

Prescription importation is important to me because of lower COST! This prescription can cost as much as $245.00. I was able to purchase it through Good RX for $124.00 within the United States. I was able to purchase RX in Canada for $58.00. There was no way I could afford this at US prices.

It’s important to me because I would not be able to afford my medication. I pay $950.00 a month for health insurance. I am allergic to metformin. I am pre diabetic. My doctor prescribed rybelsus and of course, my insurance co won’t cover it. With the Canadian pharmacy I am using I can get a 90 day supply for $850.00. It’s still expensive, however, it’s so much less than what I would normally have to pay - $1400.00 a month in the US. I feel better and I can go to work and spend time with my family without feeling so horrible as I did with metformin.

The prescription for Estring provides relief for uncomfortable menopausal symptoms. The retail price is 479.23 which is not affordable to me. I am able to purchase it through a Canadian Pharmacy for $119.00 which I am extremely grateful for.

Severe migraines are debilitating. Some of my migraines have lasted for 5-7 DAYS. Medicare does not recognize my migraine meds as "necessary" and will not even apply them to my deduction if I pay full price. The cheapest price I could find for my migraine meds was $32 per pill. Through Canadian pharmacies I pay $8 per pill.

Our insurance frequently denies medication prescribed by our physician. The insurance company then suggests alternative meds for me. I've tried the alternative meds suggested by the insurance company and they just don't work. Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield said the med prescribed by the doctor would cost $1400 and that they do not cover it. When ordered from the Northwest Pharmacy a 90 supply was $225. My wife had a similar incident with the insurance denying a medication that was $36 from Northwest Pharmacy. We want to stay active to play with our 5 grandsons and travel and need the medications our doctors recommend to stay healthy and active.
